Kind Ways To Show Leftover Halloween Candy The Front Door

…Too soon?

Well, if you’re going to get rid of that leftover Halloween candy, you may as well get off your butt and do it now.  Otherwise it’s going to linger around your house until January, by which point you’ve probably guilted yourself into keeping it; and in that case you’ll probably go out and buy a gym membership that you won’t use because life interfered with that rigorous gym schedule you’d planned in your head and before you know it you’re standing in front of your cupboard wondering if the candy is still good to give out because next Halloween has rolled around.

…Yeah, if you don’t want to be that person, I’ve compiled a fantabulous list of ways for you to relieve yourself of excess candy baggage.  Pick one (or a few!).

  • Of course, you can freeze it.  Both chocolate and hard candies freeze very well.
  • Donate it.  Give it to a food bank or sit it out for the pickin’ (tastefully) at church or in your office.
  • Make trail mix.  Mix small chocolates with granola, dried fruit, almonds and pistachios for a healthy treat.
  • Accentuate gifts.  Add candies to someone’s gift, get-well-soon kit or care package for a guaranteed mood lift!
  • If your kid’s birthday is coming up soon (say, before January), pair it with a small toy for birthday party goodie bags.
  • Ever wonder what would really happen if you mixed Pop Rocks with Coke?  Use the leftover candy for a science experiment!
  • Make a homesick soldier happy.  Deployed military servicemen and women frequently miss the comforts of home, and being able to reach over and grab a piece of candy that they know, love and are familiar with could make all the difference.  Sending your leftover candy is easy.

You can find more ideas here and here.
